2022 Egbeda Football Competition Kicks Off

The sponsor of the 2022 edition of Egbeda Football Competition in Emohua Local Government, Rivers State, Hon. David Omereji, has said that sports remains part of his developmental plans in the area.
According to him, his intention is to harness talents among the youths that can represent the community and beyond.
Hon. Omereji made the assertion while performing the official unveiling ceremony of the   football competition, on Sunday, at Egbeda community school field, saying that he would be ready to sponsor winners of the competition to any State and national compettion.
The football compettion tagged’ Egbe 2022 Cup” will be completed by the nine communities that up Egbeda.
Hon. Omereji who is also the leader of PDP ward 11 in the community said one of his reasons to sponsor the tournament was to bring peace and unify the people in Egbeda.
“ I am highly impressed with the turn out of the people to embrace football as a unifying factor. This will also sustain the existing peace, is as well as bringing people together happily.
“ What I am doing here today, I am not doing it for myself or family but for the overall development of the community.
This is an indication that the hand up God is in Egbeda.”
He donated the sum of N1 million for the sponsorship of the tournament,  saying no amount of money and sacrifice will be too big for peace and unity.
Speaking the PDP Ward 11 councilor ( Egbeda) Hon Beauty Omereji commended the sponsor  for his love and interest in the development of Egbeda
Hon. Omereji who is also the Chief Whip of Emohua Legislative Assembly further lauded him for his continual to effort to bring peace and unity.
Also speaking, the Chairman of organising competition, Sunday Orji thanked the donor for putting the interest of his community first
Orji described 2022 edition as unique compared to others, saying that the committee members will not disappoint the people.
