Tai Approves New Motor Park For Kpite Market
Chairman of Tai Local Government Council, Sir Mbakpone Okpe Friday has instructed the director and supervisor for works to construct a motor park ofworld-class at Kpite Market.
Okpe made this known while addressing newsmen, when he led principal officers, councillors and other Tai Local Government officials on an inspection of projects under construction by the council.
He noted that the Kpite Market would be congested by commuters, market traders and other users when completed.
He, therefore, said that the initiative was designed to ease activities around the market, especially on the nearby roads.
The Tide learnt that the park was not part of the initial budget submitted by the council but the chairman, in his quest for development, made provision for it.
Commenting on the level of work done, Okpe expressed satisfaction with quality of work done at the Tai Vocational Centre located at Koroma and on the Kpite Market.
He emphasised that the contractors had demonstrated competence in handling the projects.
Okpe, therefore, noted that his administration would continue to support the people by ensuring that they were given contracts on any projects the council intends to execute.
The chairman further advised the contractors to present any challenges that may hinder the quick completion of the projects because, according to him, the council had a stipulated time to commission them.
He warned that his administration would not entertain any excuse adduced to delay government projects’ delivery.
