RSUBEB Seeks Community Partnership In Education Dev
Towards the development of education in the State, the Executive Chairman of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, Ven Fynefaçe Akah, has called on communities, organisations, stakeholders and public spirited individuals in the State to support government to move the eduçation sector forward as well as make the environment conducive for teaching and learning.
Akah made the call last Friday during a stakeholdérs engagement meeting held at the Board Headquarters în Port Harcourt.
Akah who averred that the governor of Rivers State Chief Nyesom Wike has addressed the problem of education in the state to large extent and thanked a non governmental organisation Connected Development for supporting the government to make the learning environment congenial and conducive for our children.
RSUBEB Boss used the medium to commend the Alumni of Pabod Model Primary School, Port Harcourt for supporting the school and promised to support them whenever his attention is called upon.
Speaking earlier, the Coordinator of Connected Development, Evelyn Williams, had commended the Board Chairman for the good job he is doing in the sub sector, saying that they were at the board to seek partnership and to also inform it on what the organisation is doing in terms of rehabilitating dilapidated buildings in order to make teaching and learning conducive for the children.
On her part, Miss Ureh Okirie, who led the Pabod Old Students said they came to inform the chairman on what the Alumni have done so far in the school and to intimate him on some of the activities they intend to carry out by the end of the yeár and to ask for the board’s support.
Our correspondent reports that the board chairman also received in audience with the Eliozu Traditional Rulers Council, who camë to ask for urgent intervention in some areas in the school in the community,as well as Community Primary School Eneka.
