Protest Rocks PH Flour Mills Over Non-Delivery Of Products

Some customers of Port Harcourt Flour Mills Limited, Port Harcourt, have staged a protest in front of the company on Industry Road, over the non-delivery of their products by the company seven years after payment.
The protesters, comprising 70-year old Elizabeth Onuoha from Imo State; Umar Shinkafi Daslam, Ibrahim Marafa, and Saidu Adamu, claimed that the company has refused to supply them their products after collecting various sums of money running into millions of naira.
They alleged that shortly after making payments, the management told them that its operations have been shut down, and bluntly refused to either supply them their goods or refund them their money.
They accused one Hassan, the company’s warehouse manager of refusing to release to them their goods.
Speaking, 70-year old Elizabeth Onouha, said she paid the company the sum of N5million since 2014 for brown and flour, which have not been supplied till date.
According to her, Hassan has constantly told her to go to court as neither her product nor money would be refunded.
She called on the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, to intervene by compelling the management of PH Flour Mills to give them their products or refund their money.
Onuoha said the situation has brought untold hardship to her.
Also speaking, Alhaji Umar Shinkafi Daslam, said he was yet to receive his products after making payment seven years ago.
He also accused the same warehouse manager of deliberately refusing to release his products to him.
He claimed that Hassan has, time without number, threatened to deal with them if they ever disturbed him again.
Daslam also called for the intervention of Governor Nyeson Wike in the crisis by compelling the company to refund them their money.
Others also called for the refund of their money.
When contacted, the Warehouse Manager, Alhaji Hassan, did not deny the claims of the protesters.
He, however, said there was nothing he could do about the situation.
Also, when contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, denied knowledge of the protesters’ claims.
She advised them to make formal complaint to the police for proper investigations.
