The Chairman Board Of Trustee and President of Port Harcourt Revival Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited (PRMCSL), Mr Nwosu Reginald Oguchi, has  said the newly inaugurated organisation will focus on promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), using its members’ subscription.
Oguchi, who said  this in an exclusive interview with  The Tide shortly after the inauguration of the executive officers of PRMCSL, weekend in Port Harcourt,   noted that the Co-operative will  also invest in Agro-business value chain and export in Nigeria.
He stated that the passion of the organisation is to create sustainable enterprises for its members for them to manage same and subsequently realize their economic and social needs.
Oguchi, who is also the MD/ CEO of Noble Queen Oil Nigeria Ltd., revealed that the common practice of every other co-operative society is stiff and loan, but PRMCSL is using their members’ subscription to invest,  especially on best Agro-business and export, and at the end of the day they will raise enough revenue to be  shared among their members.
“You can agree with me that advanced economies progress faster through cooperative  as MSMEs to achieve sustainable development.
“Revival Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited will focuse more on investment, especially on Agro-business value chain and export”,  Oguchi said.
The BOT Chairman  guaranteed forty percent dividend for every member annually, adding that the major challenge of many cooperative societies is funding, “but in PRMCSL,  members will put together their fund, and are not going to borrow it to any institution for interest rate.
“So, all we need to do is to use  that fund usefully and profitable in investment”.
He noted that the co-operative  would be willing to train any member lacking in their businesses, adding “what they do as cooperative is to train the member properly in that particular area and then established him to the micro level and run it with him, after sometime, we handover to him.
“Any of our  members who feel like  establishing  his own cooperative using PRMCSL standard, we will permit him after training and we can allow him to finance our society to start his own. We will also monitor him so that he did not fall below standard at any given time.
“We are going to give Rivers State people special attention because we are doing the business in Rivers state”, he stated.
