Principal’s Cup: CSS Opobo Wins Tournament

Comprehensive Secondary School (CSS), of Opobo in  Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State has emerged champions of this year’s  Principal Football Cup tournament in the State.
CSS defeated Government Technical College (GTC), Ahoada 1-0 on Saturday at the Sharks Football Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tidesports shortly after the final match the Head Coach of CSS Opobo, Mike Jaja expressed joy for winning the tournament for the first time.
According to him, he is the most happiest man in the world as he won the trophy for his Local Government Area, adding that it was first time he has led a team to win this trophy.
“ I am the most happiest man in the world because this is the first time I came  to a competition with grassroots team that has not stayed under my tutelage for  two months” Jaja said.
He explained that his  plan was to give  grassroots teams the best in the coaching industry because they have potentials to become future stars.
He noted that Opobo/Nkoro did not have much national and international players, consequently he would want to produce players that will play at that level.
“My intention is to produce professional players from my area” he stated.
He commended the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Schools Sports, Aribitonye Okiri for ensuring that the competition was held successfully.
“ We have won in the State, our next plan is to go home and plan for the zonal game and make the State proud, “ he added.
