NMA To Partner Flood Committee
The Nigeria Medical Association, Rivers State Branch has assured flood victims in Ahoada Local Government Area of the support of its members.
The NMA Chairman Dr. Ebbi Robinson gave the assurance during the assessment visit with other State excos to the Internally Displaced Persons Camp in Ihu- Ike State Primary School Ahoada East Local Government Area.
Dr. Robinson said the body will partner with the state flood committee to reduce plight of the IDPs, noting that the essence of the visit is to get first hand information on the needs of the people.
He assured that their recommendation will be submitted to the disaster management committee for further actions.
Some flood victims who narrated their ordeal called for more support in the area of healthcare as the camps are crowded.
They lamented the exposure to mosquitoes and stressed the need for preventive measures.
The Rivers NMA gave donations and relief materials that include drugs and mosquitoe nets to the IDP camps.
