One of Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC), Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt will lock horns with El Nasr Benghazi in the second leg of the final qualifier for the group stage of the competition in Libya today.
Rivers United, fondly known as Pride of Rivers is on a 5-0 advantage , obtained in the first leg played last week in Port Harcourt at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt. As it stands, United already have one leg in the group stage , unless they suffer an unlikely monumental collapse in Libya today.
Consequently, stakeholders have charged the team to go all out to ensure that they win or run away with at least a point in order to enter group stage with confidence. The Tidesports has learnt that securing the group stage ticket would earn United $600, 000.
Captain of the team Festus Austin said his players have expressed determination and commitment to ensure that they are in the group stage. He said they have no choice than to win for Rivers State and the country at large.
The Head Coach of Dominion Sports Academy (DSA) of Port Harcourt, Dominion Egwurugwu has charged United to win and qualify, saying that with the support from the State Governor ( Nyesom Wike) the players are expected  to put in more effort to make the State proud.
