Yobe Ministry Denies Withholding Workers’ September Salaries
The Yobe Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (MLGCA) on Sunday denied withholding September salaries of members of staff of the ministry.
The denial is contained in a statement by Alhaji Yerima Mahmoud, Commissioner, MLGCA, in Damaturu.
He said the workers’ salaries were lodged with in respective bank accounts since last week.
“ Therefore, anyone that did not receive his/her salary, may be due to technical challenge between the banks,” Mahmoud said.
The commissioner noted that the ministry had never failed to pay workers’ salaries before the end of the month, saying the policy would be sustained, as directed by Gov. Mai Mala Buni.
