‘PHCCIMA’s Int’l Trade Fair/ Exhibition’ll Showcase Rivers Potentials’
President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Eze, Mike Elechi, has said the 16th Port Harcourt International Trade Fair and Exhibitions would showcase more Rivers State potentials.
Disclosing this during the unveiling ceremony in his office in Port Harcourt recently, Elechi said Rivers State was ripe for investment going by the good roads network and relative peace in the state.
He also called on the media to use the trade fair to showcase to the outside world the investment opportunities that abound in the State.
The PHCCIMA boss further stated the need for Media collaboration for effective and efficient dissemination of information ahead of the event.
“We are trying to bring those who are willing to do business in Port Harcourt. Rivers State is very peaceful, the Road networks are ideal and security has improved”, he said.
The Vintage Farms and Products boss, also warned against demarketing of the State, going by the level of development it has so far witnessed.
“We have some bad Press in the State. We must tell ourselves the truth. The Press should tell the world the truth happening in the State. That way, investors will come and invest”, he said.
While thanking the media for their support to the Chamber, he also enjoined them to showcase the peaceful nature of the State to the world for business to thrive.
“The 16th Port Harcourt International Trade Fair and Exhibitions will hold at Yakubu Gowan, Elekahia stadium, Port Harcourt between 6th to 20th December, 2022.
“The theme of this year’s trade fair is ‘Preparing SMEs to maximize trade opportunities in Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) within the South-South region.
“This year’s trade fair will not all anchore on the activities of the Chamber, but Rivers State as whole.
“We have invited you here to tell the good story about what the Governor Nyesom Wike-led Administration has put onground”, he said
He stated that there are tremendous improvements in the fight against crime in the state, adding that people are beginning to tap from available opportunities.
“The good thing about this year’s event is that we have good venue that can be located at ease. For those coming into the State for the first time, they can even use google map”, he said.
In his presentation, the Chairman, Economic and Commercial Trade Group, Dr. Uche Maraizu, explained that the trade fair was an annual event where different groups, organizations and countries converge to exhibit their products and services, adding that this year will be more elaborate compared to the previous years.
He noted that the essence of the press briefing was to inform the public of the Chamber’s plans to hold its 2022 International Trade Fair through information dissemination.
“The 2022 Trade Fair will also showcase to the world what is happening in Port Harcourt and its environs, hence the call for a collective responsibility from all key players in the business industry to make the fair a huge success. PHCCIMA will soon start intensive publicity of the plan”, he said.
