A non-governmental organisation, African Global Development for Positive Change Initiative ( ADIAfrica) has disclosed plans to bring stakeholders across the globe for an international conference scheduled to hold next month in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
President of ADIAfrica, Dr Prince Dan Mbachi, who stated this in an interview with The Tide, said his NGO would be collaborating with Botswana Society for Development for the conference.
Mbachi further explained that ADIAfrica, in pursuance of its five-point agenda: peace building, environment, renewal energy, agriculture and health, intends to draw keynote speakers from various countries to talk on prospects and opportunities available for investors.
The conference, he said, would attract foreign investors to the state and the nation, and urged indigenous businessmen and women to take advantage of the conference to open business interactions.
“The conference is going to champion a new course in terms of food security, in terms of health, in terms of environment, and we are also expecting paper presentations from different universities in the world.
“Participants will have a lot to learn. We are bringing companies from The Netherlands who specialise in building agro-parks, companies from Finland that work on recycling of waste to wealth, and several other areas.
“The ultimate plan is to create jobs for unemployed persons in the state, region and the nation at large, improve on the environment as well as engender better living standard for our people”, he said.
On the flooding ravaging communities, Mbachi said the conference would dwell on it with the aim of finding lasting solutions.
He stressed that the organisation was reaching out to relevant agencies, ministries, oil companies, traditional rulers, and financial institutions, universities in the state, and Niger Delta, and agro-based organisations to come and take advantage of the opportunity.
Mbachi said each of the 23 local government areas in the state were expected to sponsor three delegates to the conference, billed to hold on November 28 at Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt.
