Pensioners Laud PTAD’s Services In Enugu
Pensioners under the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) have lauded the directorate for performing wonderfully and exemplarily well in its services to pensioners.
The pensioners made their feelings known recently on the occasion of this year’s Customer Service Week of PTAD held in PTAD Zonal Office in Enugu.
They said PTAD had made life easy as they engage in processes and collection of their pension, unlike years back when issues of pension led to sudden death, sickness and stress for the senior citizens.
A pensioner, Mr Izuchukwu Obichukwu, noted that PTAD had made it possible for pensioners to get their pension when due and provided desk offices and staff that courteously attended to pensioners.
Obichukwu, who is also Secretary of Legion of Disengaged Workers and Pensioners of Nigeria Coal Corporation, urged the Federal Government to continue in the present way they are according service and respect to pensioners.
According to him, “PTAD has ensured we receive our pensions just as current workers receive their salaries monthly as well as paid up all arrears of pension owed to workers before they came on board.
”I must confess the Federal Government through PTAD is performing wonderfully well and all issues concerning pensions are stress-free today,” he added.
Another pensioner, Pa Elias Obetta, appreciated PTAD for ensuring his pension gets to him directly in his bank, adding: “It is seamless now, as I get my pension alert even before the end of the month”.
Obetta also commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for giving respect, care and consideration to senior citizens who are pensioners.
On his part, Mr Simon Obasi thanked PTAD administration for attending to pension’s enquiries with courtesy and ensuring verifications were done with human face.
“The issue of pensioners fainting and falling on verification queues is over, same as pensioners left in harsh weather conditions is now old story,” Obasi, who is Pension Desk Officer of Nigerian Coal Corporation, Enugu, said.
Earlier, Executive Secretary of PTAD, Dr Chioma Ejikeme, said PTAD was working assiduously to ensure that pensioners’ monthly pensions and other retirement benefits due them are paid when due, adding that the Directorate was committed to their overall welfare.
Ejikeme said as the pension administrator for the Federal Government retirees under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS), “Empathy, Dignity and Care are our watchwords in PTAD when delivering service”.
According to her, having established a SERVICOM desk in PTAD and launched the Service Charter, these are testaments to the value we place on customer satisfaction and holding ourselves accountable to ensure quality service delivery.
