Group Hails Tombomieye’s Appointment As NNPCL Vice President

The leadership of the Niger Delta Youth Coalition for Peace and Progress (NDYCPP), a socio- crusader in the region, has commended the appointment of Adokiye Tombonieye as the vice president, Upstream, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The group described the appointment “as pleasant news to the ears because he was one of the brilliant lights of the region who identified with our common challenges and took pride in his cultural identity”.
NDYCPP, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Pastor Tiedo Jude Olayinka; and National Secretary, Niger Delta Non Violence Youth Leaders Assembly, Amb Prince Tonye Jeminimiema, thanked the Federal Government for taking such decisive action in appointing Adokiye as NNPCL vice president.
The group also commended the management of NNPCL led by Mele Kyari for recognising competence and commitment to organisational growth in appointing Adokiye to the position.
The coalition noted that with the appointment, he would bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment, and prayed God for him to excel in the enormous national assignment.
The statement added that the appointment has brought jubilation in the Niger Delta communities and beyond.
The group noted that it would support Adokiye as an Izon son to excel in his new office.
“We pledge to do all we can to support him, and see to it that he is given a cordial environment for him to excel”, the group said.
