Following the flurry of floods ravaging several parts of Rivers State, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship flagbearer for the 2023 elections, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has applauded the state Governor, Chief. Nyesom Wike, for mustering the political will to provide succour to victims of the deluge with the sum of N1billion.
In a statement signed by his Deputy Media Assistant, Bon Onyedi, in Port Harcourt, yesterday, Fubara noted that it could only take a compassionate leader to urgently take such an essential step to salvage the people so devastated by the natural disaster.
He also commended Wike for appointing dedicated party men and women across the state as Special Assistants in recognition of the contributions they have been making towards the success of the administration.
The gubernatorial candidate emphasised that the two actions of the governor have proven that he was a visionary and altruistic leader who feels the pains of the people and can be trusted.
In addition, Fubara empathised with the flood victims across the heavily impacted areas of the state, and urged them not to lose hope as government was already attending to their predicament through the intervention of the governor.
While also congratulating all the appointees for the position of Special Assistant, Fubara enjoined the people to always reciprocate the commitment and positive gesture of government towards their wellbeing by maintaining support for the administration of Wike and the Peoples Democratic Party as the state enters the election season.
