As the political climate gets set for campaigning, the Rivers State Chairman of Catfish Association of Nigeria (CAFFAN), Elder Clapton Ogolo, has assured members that the only way to be rescued from the present global food crisis ravaging the economy, leaving average Nigerians to a life of suffering and below average survival rate was to pick up their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) and vote for an agriculture-friendly governor.
Ogolo, who paid a courtesy visit to the National President of CAFFAN, Dr. Mustapha Momoh, at his Aqua Green Demo Centre, Port Harcourt, reiterated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has the capacity to make agriculture very attractive and create employment opportunities for the teeming youth of Rivers State.
Fubara is one of the patrons of the association in the state.
He stated that his experience as a financial expert and technocrat would be used to attract international donor agencies to the state as he understands the needs and potentials of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
Ogolo said that, “the PVC is your power to choose a credible government”.
Responding, the National President, Dr. Mustapha Momoh, expressed excitement for the visit, and commended CAFFAN, Rivers State for its support to the national leadership of the association.
He further commended Governor NyesomWike for the peaceful environment which has encouraged fish farmers to do business without molestation in the state.
Momoh, however, promised that all members of the association would collect their PVCs and vote for an agriculture-friendly governor during the forthcoming elections.
The message of the visit was:‘SIM-ple, go and collect your PVCs, secure them and vote wisely’.
