CAFCL : Lawmaker Urges Rivers People To Support United Against Wydad Casablanca
The lawmaker representing Abua/ Odual Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Sogulu Solomon, has urged Rivers people to come out en mass to support Rivers United FC in the second leg preliminary round of CAF Champions League against Wydad Casablanca this Sunday in Port Harcourt.
He said that with the support of Rivers people, the team will get victory against Wydad Casablanca, adding that Rivers United need support.
Solomon made the call in a chat with Tidesports in Port Harcourt, saying that Rivers United FC have put in a good start in CAF Champions League believing that they will do the same again against Wydad Cassablanca.
“ I want to urge Rivers people to come out in their numbers and support Rivers United FC because they are going to play the current African champions.
“They should all come out and back Rivers United because they need motivation to play good football,” Solomon said.
He charged the players of Rivers United not to rest on their oars but to remain focused and committed in their approach to games.
“ I want Rivers United players to use the same approach they used against Watanga FC against Wydad Casablanca, with that, I think they will qualify for the group stage.
“ This is the game by the grace of God that will qualify Rivers United to the group stage of the CAF Champions League. Fans should all come out and witness the encounter with the State Governor,” he said.
He praised the pride of Rivers for their performance in the first leg preliminary round of the CAF Champions League against Watanga FC of Liberia in which they triumphed 3-1 aggregate.
