A clergy in Port Harcourt, and Senior Pastor of Gateway International Church, Pastor Geoge Izunwa , has urged the Federal Government, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to deliver a free, fair and credible election, come 2023.
He said Nigerians have suffered so much setbacks in almost every area, and therefore, need someone that have the capability to fix the country back again.
Izunwa, who disclosed this while speaking to aviation correspondents, noted that Nigeria has been badly mismanaged by the present administration, noting that the people gave them (Government) so much trust, because they came with so much promises, but could deliver very little.
“We have an economy that is in shambles, the school system is hurt, the security and every other sector have issues, and Nigerians have been trumatised.
“It will take someone who is committed to the vision of Nigeria, not one that is committed to his pocket or tribe, to be able to pull Nigerians out of this situation.
“I don’t believe that a tribal politician should win. I believe that a Nigerian politician should win, and someone that has the energy of a youth, and so, let everyone vote according to their conscience, and trust God to make things better by their votes,” Izunwa said.
On the muslim-Muslim ticket, Izunwa said he will never stand with such arrangements, adding that he doesn’t know any Nigerian who is not selfish that will support the Muslim- Muslim ticket.
According to him, those who support such arrangement are those that can sell their father or mother for any reason. They are interested in being in power, so that they can loot as much as they can.
He noted that the Muslim-Muslim ticket is an insult to Christians, that have over 50 percent of the population of Nigeria as if there is no Christian in the north to use.
