Police Confirm Killing In Emohua Community
The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that it was investigating the killing of a resident of Oduoha community in Emohua Local Government Area of the state over the weekend.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the killing in Port Harcourt, adding that the state commissioner of police has ordered discreet investigation into the incident.
A native of the community, who pleaded anonymity, said the deceased victim “was a member of disbanded OSPAC (local vigilance group) in the community”.
He said the victim was shot by gunmen suspected to be rival cult members.
According to him, gunmen believed to be members of a rival cult group, stormed the community around 11pm on Saturday night, and shot sporadically when they invaded the community, and after their operations, a former member of the disbanded OSPAC was shot dead.
The native of the community said the deceased was simply called ‘Watching’, and has been deposited in an undisclosed mortuary in the area.
