Chiefs Hail Wike Over RSU Campus
The Okehi Clan Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State has commended the Executive Governor Nyesom Wike for the execution and commissioning of a Rivers State University campus at Abara Etche in the local government area.
According to the chiefs’ council, the campus in Etcheland will not only bring development but create employment for the unemployed youths in Etche and Rivers State
They also thanked the Governor for the numerous people-oriented projects put on ground in Etcheland especially the ongoing Chokocho-Igbodo road and urged the contractor to put more efforts towards the completion of the project.
The chiefs made the commendation during the second year anniversary celebrations of the coronation of Eze Ibezim Eke, the incumbent Paramount Ruler/Onye-Ishi Agwuru of Okehi Clan recently at Umuoga-Umuozoche- Igbodo Etche at the weekend.
It would be recalled that Eze Ibezim Eke was coronated on the 4th of July, 2020 by Ochie Emmanuel Opurum,Onye-Ishi-Etche/Ochie of Etche land.
The coronation followed an election conducted by Okehi Clan Caretaker Committee, which was supervised by Etche Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs and witnessed by a delegation from the Office of the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs.
In his address at the occasion, Eze Ibezim Eke thanked the Ochie of Etcheland, E. N.B Opurum, representative of the Honourable Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, members of Etche Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, members of Okehi Clan Care-taker Committee and the entire people of Okehi Clan for their support during the election that brought him to power as the number one citizen of Okehi Clan. He promised to make a difference in leadership from the past clan heads and solicited their co-operation and prayers to move the clan forward.
