Rivers Chief Judge Tasks Judges, Magistrates On Speedy Trials
The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi has advised judges and Magistrates to always be time conscious in discharge of their responsibility and dispensation of justice.
Justice Chibuzor-Amadi gave the advice during a one -day Seminar and workshop organised by Rivers State Judiciary in collaboration with Investment and Security Tribunal held at the state judiciary conference auditorium in Port Harcourt, last Friday with the theme; The Role of Investments and Security Tribunal in Capital Market Disputes.
The number one judiciary officer in the state urged Judges and Magistrates to always strike out matters they do not have jurisdiction so as not to waste time in judiciary processes and commended members of Investment and Security Tribunal for the seminar, which he said was educative especially on time management and also on how to invest in capital market.
The Chief Judge of Rivers State insisted that striking out a matter for lack of jurisdiction would save time and resources and as well promotes timely dispensation of Justice to other matters.
Also speaking, Professor AUGUSTIN AGUME who was a resource person at the workshop said timely determination of matter could save a huge time in capital market and Judicial system.
Our correspondent reports that the seminar was for organized for Judges and Magistrates of the Rivers State Judiciary and members of the Investment and Security Tribunal .
