NDE Begins Trainning Of 50 Rivers Indigines On Special Intervention Scheme
In a bid to reduce the economic and poverty challenges bedeviling the society ,the National Directorate of Employement (NDE ),has commenced the trainning of 50 indegenes of Rivers state on a special intervention five skill areas .
The special intervention skills trainning tagged Quick Fix Demand driven scheme programme is anchored on decoration ,Costometology ,Bead making ,Hair dressing and Catering and its aimed at making the trainnees self reliance and also become employers of labour .
Delivering his key note address during the flagging_ off of the programme held in port harcourt recently ,the Director General of the NDE ,Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo said the purpose of creating the program was designed to train the beneficiaries to become self dependent and also become employers of labour and urged the successful candidates to be serious,determination in order to acquire the necessary skills during the training .
The DG represented by the state Coordinator of NDE ,Mrs Maureen Okeji averred that the programme was designed to last for just one month period and urged them to be serious and diligent during the trainning “Each time we call you for a training scheme programme such as this ,we want you to be serious .The Federal Government through the NDE has spent huge some of money on trainning not only in Rivers but across the 36 states including ,FCT Abuja .Please do us proud by taking the training serious “he stated .
Also speaking ,the Director incharge of Vocational skills (VSD )NDE Abuja ,Mr Isa Abdu disclosed that the one month training would equipped them in life and positioned them to contribute to the economic growth of the country .
Represented by Sir Patrick Chuks Agonke urged the trainnees to maximize the opportunity provided by the programme to better their life .

In his own Remarks ,the HOD VSD ,NDE in the State ,Mrs George Biraje advised the trainnees to avoid any forms of distractions during the training period and remaind focus with the vision of the training .
Biraje opined that the aim of the short training programme was to enable the trainnees acquire a skill that would add positive to their source of income and better their present status .
“As trainnees we want you all to have passion on the trainning so as not to disappoint the NDE but to ensure the dreams and objectives for which the programme was created is realized in the state .”she stated .
Responding on behalf of the trainnees ,Mrs Offia Amarachi expressed appreciation for the opportunity given them to be part of the programme and assured their commitment and determination to ensure the success of the programme in the state.
