2023: Group Roots For Fubara’s Election Victory

A non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Rivers State, the Rivers For Good Governance (RIFOG), has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Rivers State ahead of the 2023 general election, Sir Siminialayi Joseph Fubara, would scale through the election hurdles.
Speaking with TheTide recently after her National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Obete-Ndoki, in OyigboLocal Government Area of the state, Coordinator of the group, Hon. Chikwem Martins, stressed that with the avalanche of Governor NyesomWike’s development legacy which was spread across the length and breadth of the oil-rich state seven years after, remains a winning ticket for Fubara as governor next year, describing him as dependable, visionary, intelligent and accommodating leader whose humility and charisma have endeared him to millions ahead of 2023.
Martins used the opportunity to thank Wike for finding Fubara worthy of succeeding him come next year as governor.
He urged the gubernatorial candidate to use the mandate to promote peace, harmony, equity and accelerated development of the 23 local government areas of the state, adding that, “Fubara should see the three senatorial districts of the state as his constituency”.
Martins also called on all Oyigbo eligible voters to file out in their large numbers to vote for Fubara as governor of Rivers State in 2023, and avoid the temptation of a repeat miscalculation against the PDP in 2019, where they voted for the unknown opposition African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate, stressing that any attempt to repeat such would mar their transformational opportunity in governance.
“I urge my people of Oyigbo to shun the temptation of voting against PDP next year as failure to do so will spell unending doom for us. I admonish all to ensure they vote out opposition parties for our own good,” Martins asserted.
On PVC and politicians, Martins, who doubles as secretary, Obete-Ndoki Council of Chiefs, also enjoined all eligible registered voters to ensure that they obtain and secure their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) from desperate politicians who may approach them with their ‘sugar-coated’ political gospel in order to disenfranchise them against their wish in 2023.
He urged the electorate to rather should shun and chase unreliable politicians away from existence for their own betterment in the next four years.
In a related development, Hon. Chikwem Martins has used the avenue to commend the leadership dexterity of the Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Council, Hon. OkechukwuAkaraNwaogu, on his successful one year in office.
He said that chairman had performed well in the area of infrastructure development and projects execution under his administration.
Martins, who eulogised the chairman on his transformational prowess in the corridors of power, assured him of his domain’s support to his administration to move the area forward within the life-span of this dispensation.
On quality service delivery, Martins lauded Nwaogu on his achievements so far in delivering the dividends of democracy via projects execution, empowerment and other development benefits to the 27 communities of Oyigbo, describing his success as beneficial to the people of the area.
Martins, however, appeal to Oyigbo residents and other voters to support the quality leadership of the chairman for their own good in as much as this administration is out to build better development bridges for all and sundry.
