2023: ‘Fubara, Rivers Next Gov After Wike’
The Chairman of Opobo /Nkoro Local Government Council of Rivers State, Dr.Enyiada Cookey-Gam, has predicted that the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election, Sir Siminialayi Joseph Fubara would be the next governor after the incumbent Chief Nyesom Wike.
Speaking with journalists in Ataba, Andoni Local Government Area, over the weekend, Cookey –Gam, described Fubara as an asset to the PDP and Rivers State, and a leader par excellence who had etched his name in gold, given his performance as a distinguished administrator.
He maintained that Fubara was a huge treasure for PDP and one of the finest leadership tools, noting that, “If we win in 2023, he has the quality, charisma, enigma and age. The ruling PDP is a decent and large family. There was a primary poll and there were expectations but some of them were not attended to. I do understand that Sir Sim Fubara is somebody who is meticulous and vibrant.
“As a renowned professional, former permanent secretary and accountant-general in the state, who has been committed to the activities of PDP, Fubara will deliver quality service to the people, when voted into power. Fubara was chosen by PDP via the delegates’ system, and he will perform for the party”.
On 2023 and fate of Nigerians, Enyiada Cookey-Gam used the opportunity to urge eligible voters to ensure that they vote out hunger, poverty and bad governance next year, adding that failure to keep such would destroy their future.
“I urge all eligible voters in the state to register obtain and secure their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) ahead of 2023 general election”, he said, and admonished the electorate to cast their votes for Fubara and his running mate, Prof. Ngozi Ordu next year for better results.
