The Head coach of Dominion Football Academy of Port Harcourt, Samuel Jumbo has stated that he was not disappointed in his players despite not qualifying for final of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) football competition going on in the state.
He said that football is not something that you can just predict and it happens the way you hoped at all times, but that football is something you work harder to achieved the result, especially after a failure.
Jumbo made the assertion on Saturday in an exclusive interview with Tidesports shortly after they lost the semi-final match to De Kings International Football Academy (7-8) in penalty shootout after playing 1-1 draw in the regulation time at the Joseph Yobo mini stadium D/line in Port Harcourt.
According to him, he was sad over the result of the game because  at a point they were leading in the penalty kicks.
“ I am not disappointed but feel sad in my mind because that was not the result I was expecting in the game.
‘ I know we were playing a good team like us but when it comes to penalty kicks, you don’t blame anybody.
‘ They tried their best but God knows it all” Jumbo said.
He thanked the sponsor of the tournament, New Creation Ambassador Church of Port Harcourt, saying that they were really doing a good thing for the youth.
He explained that organizing football competitions in the local areas is a way of promoting the game in the society, adding that because of the tournament, they have made new friends in course of their games.
“ The competition is a good one, I expect more of this from other churches in the city” he said.
The competition is organised by YSFON and sponsor by New Creation Ambassador Church in Port Harcourt.
