LMC Orders Final Two Games To Start Simultaneously
The LMC has ordered the last two matchday fixtures of the NPFL 2021-22 season (MD 37 and 38) to be played simultaneously to avoid match fixing with the topflight league season at the home stretch.
The league’s body has fixed Sunday, July 10 and 17 for the final two matchdays with the games expected to commence by 4pm across all centres to ensure that fairness takes precedence in those games.
The league body in a press release sent to the clubs and the media says the decision is in pursuance of its stance on fair play and equity for a seamless season conclusion.
Rivers United have already won the league title with three games to spare and have amassed the highest number of points accrued by the champions with 74 points while Plateau United have already captured the second spot with 64 points but the race for the third spot is still very intense with Remo Stars, Kwara United, Enugu Rangers and Enyimba among the frontrunners for the position.
While the battle for the relegation spots is expected to go down the wire with MFM the only that have been confirmed relegated.
