Former Super Eagles of Nigeria Assistant coach, Imama Amapakabo has commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike over the newly appointed Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Barrister Christopher Green.
He said that Barrister Green as a Sports Commissioner is a welcome development in the State, following his track record in sports administration and promotion.
Coach Amapakabo, an U-16 World Cup winner in 1985, made the commendation in a chat with Tidesports on Monday, saying that Governor Wike has made the right choice.
According to him, the State has put a round peg in a round hole in the sports ministry.
“I want to say that Barrister Christopher Green being the Commissioner for Sports is a welcome development.
“Besides, this is the first time the State Government has put the round peg in a round hole, consequently, I thank Governor Wike for doing the right thing.
“Barrister Green has been a sports man and an administrator all his life. I think he is known more in the sporting industry than what he studied professionally as a lawyer,” Coach Amapakabo noted.
Barrister Christopher Green was a former Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Until his appointment he was the Chairman Rivers State Football Association (RSFA), Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Real Madrid Academy and Sole administrator, Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt.
