YSFON Championship: Coach Praises Players’ Performance
Head coach of Kings Football Academy of Port Harcourt, King Chike, has expressed satisfaction with the impressive performance of his players at the ongoing U 14-16 Youth Sport Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) football competition in Port Harcourt.
Kings Academy beat Young Wolf FC 1-0 in their opening game at the Joseph Yobo mini stadium in D/line, Port Harcourt. The coach believes that winning a game in first appearance in a tournament is an indication that they will go far in the competition.
Chike said this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports early this week, after his boys defeated their opponents.
He explained that even though he was impressed with their performance there were still some grey areas to be corrected in the team.
The competition is being organised by YSFON and sponsored by the New Creation Ambassadors Church, Port Harcourt.
“My players tried. This is their first match and appearance in this competition.
I believe that in their next game, they are going to do better than what you saw today.
I discovered lots of mistakes in the game but it will be corrected” Chike said.
He expressed optimism that hence they are competing in the tournament, they would do everything possible to reach the final.
