PDP Rep Rewards Party Faithful For 6th Term Ticket

The House of Representatives member representing Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South Federal Constituency, Hon. Essien Ekpeyong Ayi, has reached out to over 500 party faithfuls of the People Democratic Party in Cross River State, including delegates who recently voted him for the sixth time as flag bearer for the seat in the 2023 General Election.
In the course of a three -day event that held at his private residence in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, the Lawmaker who is currently serving his fifth term in the National Assembly, distributed vocational tools to empower them in different trades and enterprises.
Among items distributed were grinding machines, sewing machines, tricycles, motorcycles, deep freezers, hair dryers and gas cookers.
He thanked the delegates and party faithful for the confidence they had continued to repose in him by giving him another opportunity to be the candidate of the party in the federal constituency.
Hon. Ayi noted that the PDP was facing the 2023 elections in the State as an opposition party for the first time, adding, that “the ruling party knows that the PDP is a formidable opponent in the election with candidates we have fielded for the 2023 polls.”
The Federal Lawmaker promised a phased distribution of more items to empower his constituents as he had always done over the years.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Effiom Otu, Ward Two Chairman of the PDP, said giving and constantly keeping touch with his constituents has been what has continued to endear the Rep member to voters.
The party chairman thanked the veteran Lawmaker for the gesture and urged him not to relent in maintaining his relationship with the grassroots.
