Onelga Boss Restates Commitment To Sports Promotion, Unity

The Chairman of Ogba/ Egbema / Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) in Rivers State, Hon Vincent Job, has reiterated his commitment to use sports as one of the unifying factors in the area.
He stated that he will continue to promote and develop sports to ensure that youths in the area are meaningfully engaged and become useful to their family and society in general.
Hon. Job said this at the weekend shortly after a novelty match between Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Omoku branch and ONELGA Legislative Assembly at the Omoku Technical College field.
The encounter was one of the activities to mark the 2022 Law Week organized by NBA Omoku branch.
The Chairman, who was represented by the Council Secretary, Hon. Oke Ndulaka, lauded the association for their contributions towards sports development in the area.
He emphasised that the Council will continue to use sports to bring peace and unity, noting that sports does not know tribalism but only brings peace, unity and harmony.
“We are very happy celebrating with Omoku branch of the NBA. Your efforts toward sports development is appreciated” Hon. Job said.
Earlier, the NBA Chairman of the branch, Nnamdi Gabriel, said the novelty match was geared towards promotion of unity and peace in the entire LGA.
“This novelty match was actually geared to fostering the existing peace and unity in the area. Honestly, sports development at every level is very important because it develops humans and the society.
I use this forum to commend the Chairman for his efforts toward developing and promoting sports in ONELGA” Gabriel said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Local Planning Committee of the Law Week, Daniel Ahiakwo thanked all those who contributed towards the success of the event.
Other activities for the 2022 law week Omoku branch include peace walk, public lecture, unveiling of sign post and thanksgiving service.
