NPFL: Eguma Expresses Optimism To Win League Title
The Technical Manager of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma, has said that the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title this season 2021-2022 is almost at the door step of the state.
According to him, what they need to do is to keep working hard because it is not yet over until it is over.
Eguma stated this in his post match interview with sports journalists on Wednesday, shortly after they saw off Plateau United FC of Jos, 2-0 in the match day 31 of the NPFL at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium in Port Harcourt.
He commended the chief sponsor of the team, Governor Nyesom Wike and the management, saying that since the club was taken over by governor they have not dropped from the top position.
He praised his players, saying that the victory was deserved, adding that the visitors mounted pressure from the beginning of the game but his players were able to contain them.
“Since the club was taken over by the Governor till date, we are still on top of the league.
It was a well deserved victory.
Plateau United was a strong team, they gave us a good fight.
The game was highly competitive because it was between the two contenders on the log.
It was a tough game that separated the men from the boys,” Eguma said.
