LG Boss To Begin Construction Of Bori Main Market

The Chairman of Khana Local Government Council, Dr Thomas Bariere, has disclosed that his administration has concluded plans to commence the construction of a state-of-the-art market in Bori.
He made this known yesterday when he visited the market to inform traders about the commencement of the project.
“You may recall that during my electioneering campaign, I promised Khana people that my administration will construct a state-of-the-art market in Bori when elected and sworn into office. The commencement of the project is in fulfilment of that promise”, he stated.
The Khana council boss explained that his administration had decided to embark on the project in order to boost the economic prospects of the local government since the Bori market remains one of the biggest economic hubs of ogoni people.
He further explained that the construction work will be carried out in phases and won’t result to the interruption of trading activities in the market.
“Since the trading activities in the market remains an important source of livelihood for Khana people, and as a government that is sensitive to the plight of our people, we have decided to carry out the project in phases so that we don’t disrupt trading activities in the market”, he explained.
Bariere also disclosed that upon the completion of the project, only genuine shop owners and traders will be allocated the shops for trading purposes only.
He, however, requested for the cooperation of traders in order to deliver on the project within the stipulated time.
The executive chairman further stressed the commitment of his administration to deliver on the dividends of democracy to the people of Khana.
