Ariolu Tackles Flooding At Council’s Premises

The Obio/Akpor Local Government council has worked on the drainage in the area with a view to checking flooding in the council premises.
The Council Chairman, Barrister George Ariolu who said this in an interview with The Tide in Rumuodumanya,the council headquarters said the move is to ensure that the council premises is no longer flooded during rainy season.
He said the drainage was meant to channel water out of the council premises during rainfalls.
Ariolu also said the situation was to provide a conducive environment for workers of the council.
Meanwhile, the OBALGA boss has called for synergy between the state sanitaion taskforce and local government councils.
He said this has become necessary in view of the fact that the councils are closer to the people and know more about areas where refuse is indiscriminately disposed.
Ariolu said his administration within the last one year has checked the indiscriminate parking of tippers and tankers in parts of the area while effort has also been made to sanitise the area of illegal taskforces.
He called on the people to report fake revenue agents to the council.
