RSG Opens Bid For Sale Of Delta Hotel, Others

Five companies have bidded for the purchase of Delta Hotel, Harley Street, and some Government Catering Rest Houses in the local government area.
The companies are,Asha One Creative Investment Limited bidded for the Catering Rest House,Okehi; Springhill Multi-Concept Limited bidded for the Catering Rest House, Omoku, and Atesa Company Limited which bidded for Delta Hotel, Harley Street, Port Harcourt.
Also are, New Tiger Head Limited bidded for Catering Rest House, Bori, and Jam Services Company Limited which bidded for Catering Rest House, Ahoada.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen,the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Ifeyinma Nwankpa, said the state of the catering houses has necessitated the need for them to be privatised.
Nwankpa said most of the catering rest houses were in bad condition, adding that the situation was part of the urban renewal programme of the administration.
She said the process would create employment opportunity and check restiveness in the state.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Lawson Ikuru, described the bidding process as fair and transparent.
He said the Tenders’ Board would look at the papers and get across to the bidders.
