Fubara Ohaka, one of the kingpins of illegal oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism in Ibaa community in Emohua Local Government Area recently declared wanted by the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has been apprehended by operatives of the state police command.
Ohaka, who is also suspected to be major sponsor of a dreaded cult group in Ibaa community and its environs, was picked up at his PortHarcourt residence following credibleintelligence on his return to Rivers State after months of disappearance in the wake of the state government’s declaration of some criminal elements wanted.
Sources said that he was one of those who were fingered by the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr Chidi Lloyd, in the fight against illegal petroleum refining and bunkering activities in the area following a marching order given to all council chairmen to investigate and submit the names of perpetrators of artisanal petroleum refining and bunkering activities which has been identified as the main cause of soot in Rivers State.
Consequently, Ohaka has been on the run since he was declared wanted alongside three others from the area but reportedly sneaked into the state over the weekend to pursue his political ambition to contest for the Emohua Constituency seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He is expected to be arraigned in court to face his charges in the coming days.
