NPFL Players’ Call Up To S’Eagles Will Engender Competition – Mbaoma

Enyimba’s prolific forward, Victor Mbaoma, says calling up eight Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) players to the Super Eagles would engender healthy competition in the team and also added that this call up points to good omen for the league Mbaoma, one of the eight players called up, said that it shows that some of the domestic league players’ “are doing well to warrant the invitation,” noting that it would only propel them to give their best.
“It is a good thing for the league; it shows that the players are not doing badly.
“Personally I was not expecting it as I have continued to do my best for my club but I never knew that the little I am giving to this team has been seen as good enough to warrant my invitation.
”The same thing goes for other players invited for the two friendly matches against Mexico and Ecuador.
“It will make us to believe in ourselves and work harder; it will also show that once you are working hard, you can be invited.
“This will also open door for competition and ensure balance in the national team,” he said.
Recall that eight domestic league players made the cut for the provisional list ahead of the two friendly matches.
The players are, Adewale Adeyinka of Akwa United, Ojo Olorunleke of Enyimba, Isa Ali of Remo Stars, Ibrahim Buhari of Plateau United, Chiamaka Madu of Rivers United, Babatunde Afeez Nosiru of Kwara United, Victor Mbaoma of Enyimba and Ishaq Rafiu Kayode of Rivers United.
