Tambuwal Condoles Wike Over Uncle’s Death
Sokoto State Governor, Hon Aminu Tambuwal has visited Port Harcourt to condole his Rivers State counterpart, Chief Nyesom Wike, over the loss of his uncle, Elder Amos Kinikanwo Nyeche.
Tambuwal, also in his capacity as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)Governors’ Forum, on behalf of his colleagues, the people and government of Sokoto State, expressed sadness at the loss of the centenarian.
A statement by the Director General, PDP-Governors’ Forum, C.I.D. Maduabum, said the Sokoto State governor described the deceased as a pillar of guidance and support to the entire family while he was alive, particularly in his capacity as the senior brother of Wike’s mother.
The statement further said the governor prayed God to forgive the deceased his sins and repose his soul.
Late elder Nyeche, who died at the age of 104, was buried, last Monday, at Rumuepirikom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state in an event attended by top PDP stalwarts across the country; National Assembly members; state House of Assembly members, members of the Rivers State Executive Council, Rivers elders, traditional rulers; and people from all walks of life.
