LG Boss Charges Youths To Brace Up For Success

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Barrister George Ariolu, has expressed worry over high level of moral decadence amongst youths, as he urged them to always abstain from social vices that may pose as a threat to their future.
He also charged youths to brace up and prepare themselves for further training and self development in order to be successful in the society.
Ariolu said this in a key note address at the maiden Diocesan Singles Time Out tagged, “The Ultimate Search”organised by Diocese of Niger Delta North Women Ministry at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul’s, Diobu, Port Harcourt recently, as part of activities marking the 2022 Mothering Sunday celebration.
He said it is pertinent for youths to be morally informed and aware of their environment so as to secure a better future for themselves.
The Obio/Akpor council boss added that except youths partner with God in every of their activities, there is bound to be more unsuccessful people in the society.
He commended women for showcasing true virtues and values as mothers, saying, a virtuous woman is one whose place can be identified in her home and husband’s life.
Barrister Ariolu stated that the reason behind certain attitudes portrayed by couples can be traced to their family background which could either be a positive or negative influence on marriages and charged mothers to make out time to attend to family challenges rather than spending all days to work in an attempt to support the family to the detriment of proper rearing of the children.
He noted that patience and respect are key fundamental virtues in marriage and charged parents to retrace their steps towards imbibing the old virtues of parenthood.
The chairman who described the current spate of divorce among married couples as alarming, urged parents to step up and educate the youths on the virtues and tenets of marriage.
While eulogising Bishop Wisdom Budu Ihunwo and his wife, Mrs. Mercy Oluchi Ihunwo, he described them as a couple of infectious humility, and congratulated Mrs. Mercy Ihunwo on her birthday even as he commended the duo for their role in youths development in the Diocese.
In his charge, the Bishop, Right Reverend Wisdom Budu Ihunwo, who urged the youths to involve God if they must get it right in search of Godly partner, advised them to be responsible church members and the society at large.
Bishop Ihunwo described the Obio/Akpor Council Chairman as a man called by God to serve humanity. He encouraged the youths to emulate his leadership qualities and thanked him for bringing transformation to the local government.
In her address, the president of Mothers’ Union and Women’s Guild, Mrs. Mercy Oluchi Wisdom Ihunwo, said the programme was the first diocesan single time out organised by the women ministry of the Diocese to mark 2022 mothering sunday celebration.
Mrs. Ihunwo said this year’s mothering Sunday celebration which focused on martial issues among the youths, also regretted the high rate of separation and divorce which is alarming in the society.
She said the ultimate search is focused on developing the minds of youths to be properly guided in order to discover their perfect love which influences them in establishing God’s ultimate purpose for marriage.
