Ex-Football Star Urges Reform Of Super Eagles
Ex- football star, Christian Isaac has advocated for a total reformation in Super Eagles team with a view to repositioning the national team better in readiness for other subsequent world soccer championships.
Isaac who stated this while reacting to Eagles painful ouster from the 2022 World Cup billed to commence later in the year in Qatar said that though he was disappointed with the outcome of the unpleasant 1-1 score line against Black Stars of Ghana a fortnight ago in Abuja, he was still not surprised over the exit of the team because “l saw it coming from the early stage, when the authorities concerned could not harken to our voices of reasoning in doing the right thing that would have helped the Eagles team to excel”
“Honestly,l stand to be corrected that the assemblage of the foreign- based players for the World Cup playoffs by Coach Austine Eguaveon without the inclusion of some home-based players were one of the biggest flaws observed from the technical crews that cost us the World Cup ticket, when compared with the Ghanaian side whose starting lineup were predominantly hinged on home- based players that were playing out their heart,in an effort to carve a niche for themselves”
He, therefore, maintained that it is high time Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) did do the needful to overhaul the entire Eagles team, comprising both the players and technical crew who were clawless on how to salvage the precarious situation of Eagles team on that penultimate World Cup play off day.
“For me,let us start now to be rebuilding our national team with much focus on home- based players who have abundant skills but need a sound technical coach to harness them properly.”
