Due Process: DG Urges Compliance With Procurement Law
The Director-General of Rivers State Bureau On Public Procurement, Mr Igonibo Thompson, has told procurement entities to comply with procurement law.
Thompson, who stated this while addressing participants at a public procurement workshop organised at his office in Port Harcourt yesterday, urged them to follow due process.
Thompson, who was represented by an official of the public Relations Department of the bureau, Mr Victor Ali, expressed happiness that procurement entities were complying.
He said the workshops, seminars and programmes were a continuous process.
The workshop which had its theme as “Fundamentals of Public Procurement Law and Implementation” was intended to keep ministries, departments and agencies abreast with public procurement law.
Permanent Secretaries, administrative, procurement and other accounting officials of MDAs attended the workshop.
Lecturers at the workshop included the Director General, Dr Dienfofa Ere, who spoke on change management, Lenaata Benson: Fundamental Provisions of Rivers State Public Procurement Law and Dukwe Uku, who spoke on “Understanding Procurement Planning, among others.
