Divine School Wallops Prince O’Bheick 6-3 In Friendly Game
It was exciting and thrilling as Divine International School, Borikiri, Pummelled their counterparts, Prince O’Bheick International school of No 3 Detachi Lane, off Odili Road Port Harcourt 6-3 in a friendly football match.
The encounter which took place at the Prince O’BheickMini-field was earlier dominated by the host in the first half before the tide of the game changed in the second half of play.
The likes of Emi, Evan, Miebi, Aaron, Hamilton and Joshua scored for the Divine team while Sepreye scored two goals and Camcy netted the third goal for the host school.
Speaking with our correspondent after the match, the Administrative Officer of Divine International School UPE, Sandfield, Borikiri, Mr.Adolphus Clement expressed gratitude to the Director and management of the school for creating such an environment for the students to keep fit and mentally alert, stressing those academic pursuits would not be complete without sports.
Mr. Clement noted that the friendly march will help expose their talents in football since the game had become a source of livelihood to many families as well as create friendship.
He commended his players for making the school proud despite short preparation and maintained that he would form a formidable team in the school for future competitions, urging the players to keep up the spirit.
Also speaking, the Administrative Officer of Prince O’ Bheick Int’l School, Mr. Goodnews Inyele hinted that the inter-school football match of the sister institutes which is first of its kind had given the students an opportunity to showcase their skills and that he will try and fortify the team for subsequent competitions.
Mr Inyele also thanked the Director of the schools for the opportunity given to the staff and students of the schools to interact make friends and exchange pleasantries, pointing out that it are a good development that would be sustained.
