Ariolu Tasks Akpor Monarch On Peace, Unity, Progress

Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Barrister George Ariolu, has urged the Monarch of Akpor Kingdom, Eze Ozuowuowu Levi Amos Oriebe, to use his recognition and staff of office as a first class traditional ruler for the promotion of peace, unity and progress in the kingdom and area at large.
He expressed optimism and confidence that the traditional ruler would uphold the customs and traditions of the people in a dignified manner.
Ariolu, accompanied by his Vice, Lady Chinyeru Agbara, gave this advise, last Monday, when he led some political appointees on a visit to the monarch and custodian of Akpor culture and tradition, in his palace.
According to Ariolu, who presented a portrait to the monarch to idolise the day of his recognition, stated that the purpose of the visit was to officially congratulate him on his recent recognition as first class traditional ruler and issuance of staff of office by the Rivers State Government.
The chairman, during the presentation of the portrait, encouraged Oriebe to always uphold the customs and traditions of the people as well as promote peace, unity and progress within Akpor Kingdom.
The Rivers State Government had on February 4, 2022, alongside other traditional rulers, recognised and issued staff of office to Oriebe.
In his reaction, EzeOzuowuowu Levi Amos Oriebe, thanked the Wike-led Rivers State Government for the elevation of the traditional stool of Akpor Kingdom.
He said even though it had proven a difficult task to achieve during the time of his late predecessor, he was grateful that the process of the recognition came swiftly without any hitches in his reign.
Speaking further, Oriebe maintained that he would use his staff of office to ensure that peace, progress and unity was maintained in his kingdom.
While commending Ariolu for the visit, he assured that he would work assiduously in ensuring collaborative partnership between the Akpor traditional stool and Obio/Akpor Local Government Council to further see to it that the interest of the people were protected and promoted.
Those on the chairman’s entourage were, Chief of Staff, Promise Ogbonda; Chief Protocol Officer, Buduziri Amadi; Councillor representing Ward 15,Victor Wokeh; Supervisor for Youths and Sports, Newman Ogbonda; Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters, Victor Ajoku; and Chief Security Officer, Felix Ichebadu Ochonma.
