Ariolu, Others Advise Couples To Respect Each Other

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barrister George Ariolu, and other eminent dignitaries, last Saturday, witnessed the holy matrimony between Victor Sergeant-Awuse and Sotonye Annabel Obeneme.
The groom, Prince Victor Awuse is the first son of Nne-Nwe Eli Emuoha, Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse.
The wedding, which had all the trappings of pomp and pageantry, was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral Church, Diobu, and the reception at the EUI Event Centre, Abacha Road, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
Guests at the ceremony included, former Rivers State Governor, Sir Celestine Omehia; Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo; former Deputy Governor, Rivers State, Engr Tele Ikuru; Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House, Engr Emeka Woke; Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Amb Desmond Akawor; Chairman of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro Felix Obuah; former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo; former Special Adviser to Governor Wike on Political Matters, Hon. Glory Emeh; amongst others.
Also in attendance were the Chairman of Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council and Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja; former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Onueze Okocha; former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo; Barrister Frank Owhor, some local government chairmen, chiefs, families of the couple, friends and well-wishers.
While witnessing another matrimony between Livingstone Amadi; and Bertha Ikechi at St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Rumuomasi, Ariolu charged couples to always respect their partners and let love take its place in their union.
He further charged couples to desist from continuous show off of luxurious and exotic events, particularly weddings.
According to him, what was most important was the life after the ceremony.
The chairman, who urged couples to save up for a better life and family building, also admonished parents to reinstate the practices of instilling cultural and family value in the lives of their children, which he said has led to many family break ups and domestic violence in the society.

Ariolu, while congratulating the couple, encouraged them to always remain prayerful as he prayed God Almighty to teach them the principles to help them build their matrimonial home.
