PETAN Lists Gains Of OTC 2022 ….Returns Chairman, Others In New Exco

The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN),has invited sponsors, exhibitors and delegates to participate at the forthcoming annual Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) scheduled to take place from May 2 to 5, 2022, at the NRG Park, Houston Texas, United States of America.
The association, an indigenous technical oilfield service companies, providing specialised services to the upstream and downstream sectors of the Nigerian oil and gas industry, has been responsible for leading and hosting the Nigerian government agencies and stakeholders, oil and gas companies and investors at the prestigious Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) yearly.
A statement by PETAN, and made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt, said that this year, the Nigerian pavilion promises to be no less eventful.
Among other benefits, PETAN said, the 2022 OTC promises to showcase companies’ capabilities to over 1,000 delegates and over 250 companies in the oil and gas industry; give exhibitors the chance to promote their products and services to operators and contractors in the local region; and access to the latest industry news, as well as presence at one of the world’s largest oil and gas events and access to networking opportunities with professional contacts from across the world.
Others include networking with the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream organisations as well as high profiled government officials and key decision makers in the industry; give participants the opportunity to build and establish new leads as well as entrenching a global presence in the industry; avail competitors the capabilities to stay ahead in the industry.
The event wouldalso feature formal opening of the Nigerian Exhibition Pavilion in the NRG Park; luncheon and panel sessions on the Nigerian energy and supportive industries; Nigerian industry awards dinner and cocktail; side shows of Nigerian culture displays and entertainment; technical sessions; and networking golf event.
Meanwhile, PETAN Chairman, Mr. Nicolas Odinuwe has been re-elected for another two years.
His re-election as well as that of most other members of the executive took place earlier, last Monday, during the association’s first Quarterly Annual General Meeting.
The new executive’s tenure would now run till March, 2024.
Most members of the EXCO, who returned unopposed, included the PETAN ViceChairman, Mr. Ranti Omole; Treasurer, Mr. Eloka Ejeh; Publicity Secretary, Dr. Lucky Akhiwu; Conference Chairman, Mr. Chinedu Maduakoh; Ex-Officio, Dr. Timi Austen-Peters.
Outgoing PETAN Secretary, Ms. Patricia Simon-Hart was co-opted as ex-officio; former financial secretary, Mrs. Edith Akwaeke, is returning as the assistant secretary.
Newly elected executive members are Mr. Akin Osuntoki, as the new financial secretary while Engr. Obi Uzu came on board as the new secretary of the association.
In his acceptance speech, PETAN Chairman, Mr. Nicolas Odinuwe, thanked members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) for the confidence reposed in him and members of the outgoing and incoming executive in steering the affairs of PETAN, and urged stronger support and cooperation for ongoing and future efforts at repositioning the association as the foremost pressure group of indigenous oil and gas service companies in the country.
