PAMO Varsity Teaching Hospital Ready, Dec
Authorities of PAMO University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) have said that the institution’steaching hospital would be ready before the end of this year.
The Chancellor of the university and former Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, disclosed this at the university’s 5th matriculation ceremony.
Odili, who was represented by Special Adviser to the Pro-Chancellor of the university, Dr. Abdulrahman Sambo, said the university has had a successful story since inception four years ago, adding that PUMS was adjudged the first university with full accreditation status.
He said the management would continue to sustain the institution’s core values and principles as well as improve on facilities.
Odili commended parents of students at PUMS for supporting their children’s choice of the institution, noting that the matriculation ceremony would afford fresh students the opportunity of availing themselves of the fundamental guidelines of the institution.
Similarly, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Michael Diejamaoh, said that the institution would continue to maintain zero tolerance for cultism and other vices.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony, Diejamaoh said any student who indulges in cultism, drug abuse and other anti-social vices would be shown the way out of the institution.
The vice chancellor also said that the university would graduate its first set of students in Nursing Science and Medical Laboratory Science during the event.
According to him, the vision of the founding fatherswas to make the university one of the foremost medical universities in Nigeria, and also to promote excellence in medical training.
Diejamaoh also commended Rives State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for his magnanimity and support to the university in efforts to upgrade capital projects and scholarships in the institution.
About 150 students took part in the ceremony.
