Family Seeks Justice For Kidnapped Son
The family of one Mene Moses in Nwennkova, Kuma Tai (Ogoni special unit),Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, who went missing after he was allegedly kidnapped on 6th February,2022 by a gang led by a Youth Leader, one Sunday aka Cambush from a neighbouring community is demanding justice and prosecution of the accused suspects by the police in the state .
A brother to the kidnapped victim, Mr Barisee Bariaara made this demand in an interview with journalists in Port Harcourt, Monday alleged that the prime suspect, Sunday popularly called Cambush, a Youth leader in a neigbouring community arrested by the Koroma Divisional Police headquarters in Tai LGA a week ago in connection with the kidnap and disappearance of his brother and later transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) PortHarcourt is yet to be charged to court
Narrating the story on how his brother got missing, said on that fateful day his brother, Mene Moses was returning home to visit his mother at Nwennkova, Kuma Tai and boarded an Okada, when the Okada rider diverted him to a neighbouring village where about four youth rounded him up and asked him to call his people to say goodbye to them.
Mr Bariaara said his brother called his mother and informed her where he was then and what was happening to him and that was the last time they heard from him and since then his brother (Mene Moses) way about is unknown .
He disclosed that the arrested suspect in custody of SCIID has allegedly confessed to the crime and acknowledged been responsible to the kidnapping and his missing brother.
Also speaking, the spokesperson for Kuma Tai (Ogoni special unit), Prince Barifodum has called on the Police to immediately arraign and charge the suspect, aka Cambush to court. alleging that information at their disposal has it that some powerful individuals in the area are making frantic efforts to secure the release of the suspect from Police custody to pervert justice.
When contacted, the police acting public Relations Officers, DSP Grace Iringe – Koko dismissed such allegation and added that investigation is still going on.
In a related development unknown Cultists have kill Assistant Commander of Emohua Local Government Vigilante Service, EMOVIS in Obelle Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, simply identified as KEMKEM, over the weekend .
A source who spoke with The Tide on the condition that his name would not be mentioned said that the suspected cultists invaded the Obelle community Sunday night and shot sporadically after killing their target whose body was also taken away by the killers.
The Commander of EMOVIS in Obelle who confirmed the incident, said a cult group stormed the community and shot dead his assistant and took away his body to unknown place.
A senior police officer attached to Rumuji Police station confirmed the killing, but the Rivers State Police Command through the public relations office is yet to issue official statement or confirm the incident as at the time of filling the story.
