Customs Reduces Smuggling Activities Through Football In Badagry
Badagry United FC of Lagos has described the Nigeria Customs Service, Seme Area Command intervention for the support and encouragement in the game of football as the best means of tackling smuggling activities in the border communities.
The Sporting Director, Badagry United FC, Danladi Musa, disclosed this to Tidesports sources last Sunday, noting that the round leather game has reduced smuggling activities within the border communities due to customs support towards ensuring the sustainability of the club.
Musa, who also served as an Assistant Secretary General, Communication, Nigeria Professional Football Association, said that even as a young club, it has a life of its own, it is a limited liability and we have a complete board of directors who are gifting this team to the community.
“The likes of the Area Controller Nigeria customs service, Seme border, CAC Bello Jibo, and many others.
We appreciate the efforts of Compt. Bello Jibo, who in his wisdom has taken sports to remove the youths’ mindset from smuggling activities, creating cordial relationship with host communities ever than before.
Jibo has contributed his quota to sports development in the border town as a sport loving person”, Musa said.
He pointed out that the grand patron of the club is the Oba Akran of Badagry and President, Prince Adeyemi Akran, have also been supportive for the club’s existence.
Musa also stated that the club had acquired two hectares of land for the sole aim of constructing a stadium .
“It would also interest all to hear that we have gotten a 2 hecters of land to build a private stadium”.
