Court Delivers Judgment On Murder Case In PH, Next Week
A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has reserved judgment on the murder case of late Esther Edomobi, who was allegedly murdered at her residence in Cocaine Village, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, by her security guard in collaboration with three others.
The deceased was said to have been murdered by the 1st defendant, Zakariah Dauda, who was employed as a guard in her home.
The defendant was said to have conspired with Inah-Inah Edet, Sunday Pius and Isaac Marcus, 2nd to 4th defendants to commit the act on May 24, 2008.
The 1st defendant, was as it was gathered, intercepted by police officers at Oyigbo checkpoint, in an attempt to flee to his home town with the deceased’s Toyota Avanzar car.
Other valuables were also recovered from the defendant, who was charged to the court with his accomplice for conspiracy and murder.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Weli Chechey, asked counsel in the matter to address the court before judgement date, on issue whether the confessional statement of the defendants admitted in trial within trial will be binding on the court.
Justice Chechey however adjourned the case to 28 March, 2022 for Judgement.
