Community Leader Cautions Vandals Over Power Theft

The Omerelu overall Chairman, Chief Geoffrey U. Amadi, has warned suspected vandals of the Omerelu power line along Port Harcourt/Owerri Road to desist forthwith, or risk a severe punishment.
Amadi made the call when he spoke in an interview with newsmen in the community recently.
He expressed dissatisfaction for the act and warned against repetition of the ugly development.
The Onu-Omopi Chairman also fumed over the development on the ground that the perpetrators were bent on plunging the community into perpetual darkness, thereby encouraging under development of the area.
He further threatened to invoke what he described as traditional and western measures to the miscreants should they fail to turn over a new leaf.
On the flip side, he extended his appeal to the callers of the removal of the Omerelu OSPAC Chairman and said that the act was mischievous.
He wondered why those he described as faceless petitioners could not use their intellectual prowess to attack the cultists then but decided to act against an erudite patriot who risked his neck for the peace and benefits of all.
“Those petitioning Mr Assor to DSS and other he asked.security operatives are at best enemies of Omerelu. Where were they when the community was on fire?” he asked.
As a way forward, he advised all politicians in the community on the need to exclude security matters from the business of politics.
According to him, if such trend continues, it may bring about serious security quagmire in Omerelu.
He has also appealed to the Ikwerre Local Government Chairman Chief Samuel Nwanosike not to listen to any report about Assor unless such emanated from a recognised Omerelu community leader.
It would be recalled of the local vigilante outfit, codenamed OSPAC.that the Omerelu ommunity now knows the full meaning of peace since Mr. Maxwell Chigozie Assor mounted the leadership saddle of the local vigilante outfit, codenamed OSPAC.
