Abali Kingdom in Port- Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State has distanced itself from a petition purportedly written against the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) by the Abali community Development Committee.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt, Palace Secretary to the Kingdom, Prince William Chinwo, said the Paramount Ruler of Abali Kingdom, Eze Christopher Wonodi has not mandated any person or group of persons to petition against the NLNG or any other company operating in the Kingdom.
Chinwo said those who purportedly wrote the petition did it for their selfish interest, stressing that the community is dissociating itself from it.
He said the situation has portrayed the community as being at war with the company.
According to him, Abali Kingdom has not mandated any person or group of persons to petition against NLNG, either oral or written.
“Anyone committed to that is doing so on his or her own.’’
Chinwo said the Kingdom has good relationship with all companies operating in the Kingdom as well as government agencies, adding that Abali community is disciplined and peaceful and will continue to maintain good relationship with all its corporate friends operating within its territories.
The palace secretary also used the occasion to assure the state government led by Chief Nyesom Wike that the Kingdom will continue to sustain its good relationship with both NLNG and other corporate entities operating in the area.
