Community Celebrates New Monarch’s Emergence
The ancient community of Emohua in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State was recently agog with celebrations as the people jubilated over the emergence of a new first class monach, Eze Sergent Chidi Awuse following the demise and burial of the former traditional ruler, Eze V.C. Okor, Mgbo xii.
The new monach, Eze Awuse had since been recognised and given the staff of office as a first class traditional ruler by the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike at the Government House, Port Harcourt. Since then, the community has witnessed a beehive of socio-cultural activities and series of goodwill messages, felicitations, encomiunms and accolades from different quarters within and outside the community.
Among these groups were his kinsmen from the Mgbu Owha-Olo Royal House represented by Chief Dickson Igwe and Chief David Orji who described the emergence of Ohna Awuse as a good omen and the beginning of a new dawn in the history of Emohua Kingdom.
The Mgbu Owha-Olo Royal House noted that the appointment and confirmation of the new monach by the state government was a dream come true as it has restored the ancient stool of Olo, the progenitor of the distinguished Emohua Kingdom and its dynasty. They noted that the restoration of the stool has also given his descendants their rightful position and a sense of belonging in the kingdom as they prayed God to give him good health and the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Kingdom.
Also speaking, a youth leader in the family, Comrade Caminus Agburum contended that Ohna Awuse had been a man of the people over time because of his large heart, philanthropismy selfless services to God and humanity which had earned him popularity and love by all and sundry in Emohua community and beyond.
Agburum also noted that Ohna Awuse through his magnamynity, goodwill and love contributed immensely towards the restoration of peaceful co-existence, unity and rapid even development successfully disbanding cultism, kidnapping, youth restiveness and other social vices in the local government.
He stated that these were some of Awuse’s magic wands that had endeared him to the people as a tested and trusted leader. He stressed that with Awuse on the throne as a first class monach, Emohua would experience Eldorado.
